Akim of Almaty Region Sultangaziev Marat reported on the current socio‑economic development of Alatau City and the progress of new investment projects. He noted that the city’s budget has tripled this year, reaching KZT 8.8 billion. Over the past ten months, industrial output increased by 17 percent to KZT 115.6 billion, while investment volume grew by 13 percent, totaling approximately KZT 46.4 billion. Alatau City’s investment portfolio currently includes 41 projects expected to create more than 21,000 jobs, with 18 projects already under implementation worth around KZT 1 trillion. These projects cover logistics, agro‑industrial production, food and light industry, involving major companies such as PepsiCo, United Hygiene, Molochnaya Dolina, ASP Arena, QazQonHub, AVZ and Istkomtrans.
Work is also underway to establish the country’s largest Alatau Special Economic Zone, covering 97.9 thousand hectares, more than 24 thousand hectares of which are located outside the city and include key agro‑processing projects. Proposals were considered to create a new industrial and logistics SEZ to preserve guarantees for existing enterprises and support the launch of new production facilities. As part of the Alatau City Master Plan, special attention is being paid to modern urban planning and architectural solutions, including the development of the Gate District business area and the Iconic Building project. Positive dynamics are also reported in housing construction, with more than 103,000 square meters of housing commissioned this year. Following the meeting, the Prime Minister issued instructions to relevant ministries and the Almaty Region Akimat to ensure high‑quality and accelerated implementation of planned projects.
