The Kazakhstan government successfully concluded its global event, “ALATAU RISE With Kazakhstan,” drawing strong participation from Korean ministries and corporations. Held at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul on October 15–16, the forum gathered over 400 representatives from both countries to discuss cooperation in next-generation industries.

Several MOUs were signed during the event: the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) agreed to collaborate on developing the urban air mobility (UAM) ecosystem; the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) pledged partnership on green energy; and Akimat of Almaty Region inked an infrastructure cooperation deal with Korea’s RETD.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bozumbayev Kanat and Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong Gwan discussed strengthening economic ties across manufacturing, plant construction, and critical minerals.

Located north of Almaty, Alatau City spans 880 km² and is designed as a ₩25 trillion smart metropolis integrating industrial, financial, tourism, and education zones within a Special Economic Zone offering full tax exemptions.

The roadshow was hosted by the Kazakhstan government with support from Alatau City Development Group, Alatau City Bank, Caspian Group, Caspian Korea, Samjong KPMG, and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Korea.
