Advanced urban technologies such as robot‑ready buildings, smart food production facilities, and an underground vacuum waste collection system may be introduced in Alatau City as part of its development as a next‑generation urban center. To study best practices, a Kazakhstan delegation led by Alatau City Authority CEO Abdykadyrov Alisher visited South Korea, reviewing smart city models in Incheon, Sejong, Seoul, and Seongnam. The experience will be used to integrate high‑tech solutions into the city’s master plan from the earliest design stage.

A key focus of the visit was Incheon Free Economic Zone, where a centralized “digital brain” manages traffic, utilities, and emergency response through AI‑driven data platforms. Similar systems are being considered for Alatau City to ensure seamless coordination of municipal services. The delegation also examined Sejong City’s underground vacuum waste collection system, which eliminates garbage trucks in residential areas, reduces emissions, and improves environmental quality-an approach aligned with Kazakhstan’s clean environment agenda.

In addition, South Korea’s experience in food‑tech and robotics is expected to shape Alatau City’s commercial and industrial infrastructure. A memorandum has already been signed with Hyundai Green Food to develop a large-scale smart food production complex. The delegation also reviewed robot‑integrated office buildings, where autonomous systems handle internal logistics and services. These solutions are planned to be reflected in the ongoing refinement of the Constitutional Law on Alatau City’s special status, ensuring that legal and regulatory frameworks support the implementation of advanced technologies.
