The development of Alatau City has become one of the central priorities in the economic transformation of Almaty Region, following the President of Kazakhstan’s instructions to create new growth points for industry, business, and innovation.
As part of this strategy, Alatau City is being formed as an international industrial and business hub. By the end of 2025, a pool of 32 major investment projects had been formed in the city, with 25 projects distributed across four key clusters: industrial and food production, logistics, tourism, and academic and pharmaceutical industries. A significant step was the allocation of land for the creation of a large-scale pharmaceutical cluster involving the international company Hanteng BioPharma.
To support industrial growth, the Government approved a Roadmap for the construction of 46 infrastructure facilities in Alatau City, with priority given to substations and water supply projects necessary for launching new production zones. These measures are aimed at ensuring reliable utilities and accelerating the implementation of investment projects.
Beyond Alatau, Almaty Region continues to demonstrate strong economic performance. Industrial output reached 2.6 trillion tenge, while the region maintained national leadership in food production. Large-scale projects in agriculture, logistics, processing industries, and infrastructure development are contributing to job creation, export growth, and improved living standards.
Overall, Alatau’s development is acting as a catalyst for the broader economic modernization of Almaty Region, reinforcing its role as a strategic center for investment, manufacturing, and innovation.
