Source: В Алатау запустили первую базовую станцию 5G

The Committee of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan conducted a working visit to Alatau to review the development of communications infrastructure and the quality of telecom services.

Together with the Alatau city akimat and mobile operators, committee representatives inspected the Zarechny and Zhetygen districts, as well as sections of the Almaty–Konaev highway, with a focus on improving signal stability and expanding coverage in suburban and remote areas.

During the visit, Alatau’s first 5G base station was officially launched by Mobile Telecom-Service. The new facility will increase network capacity and provide residents with high‑speed internet access.

A follow-up meeting was held at the Alatau city akimat to discuss further expansion of 5G networks, extension of fixed broadband coverage for public institutions and residential areas, and measures to improve overall service quality. Special attention was given to education infrastructure, with plans to connect all schools in Alatau to high-speed internet by the end of the year.

As a result of the meeting, a 2025–2027 roadmap was signed, outlining the phased development of mobile and internet connectivity in Alatau, including network expansion, equipment modernization, and the connection of social facilities.
