Alatau is using the experience of Korean cities
Representatives of the Government and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited Sejong and Songdo in South Korea to study advanced smart city and urban infrastructure solutions.
Sejong City, established in 2017, is a modern administrative center where innovative technologies support the work of 14,000 civil servants. The Kazakhstan Government delegation reviewed integrated city management systems and advanced underground infrastructure solutions that enhance urban efficiency and sustainability.
The delegation highly evaluated South Korea’s digital governance and regulatory framework, noting the potential to apply this experience in the development of Alatau City. Plans include granting the city a special legal status, introducing a one-stop service model for investors, and expanding international cooperation in construction and digitalization projects.
Kazakhstan – South Korea cooperation is expected to play a key role in the implementation of modern urban technologies in Alatau City, with bilateral ties set to strengthen further following Republic of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Seoul.
