Kazakhstan is positioning itself as a Central Asian hub for innovation and digital finance through its ambitious Alatau City Project, calling for stronger cooperation with Korea in smart city development, renewable energy, and healthcare.
Speaking at the “Alatau RISE With Kazakhstan” international roadshow in Seoul, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bozumbayev Kanat said the initiative integrates advanced technologies such as AI, robotics, and digital finance to build a transparent, investor-friendly environment.
He emphasized that Alatau City has already become a “powerful platform for technological companies and exporters,” inviting Korean firms to join its growing innovation ecosystem.
Democratic Party of Korea Rep. Park Hong Geun, who chairs the Korea-Kazakhstan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, praised the project as “a bold declaration of Kazakhstan’s shift toward an innovation-driven economy” and highlighted the historic contributions of ethnic Koreans in Kazakhstan as a vital link between the two nations.
The roadshow also featured discussions on mobility, hydrogen energy, AI, and cultural cooperation, marking a new stage in bilateral collaboration.
