Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Lee Sang Kyung met with Lastayev Talgat, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of  Kazakhstan, and Issatayev Rustam , Deputy Governor of Almaty Region, on October 15 at the Land Development Exhibition Hall in Seoul to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in construction and infrastructure.

The meeting was held at the request of the Kazakhstan government delegation visiting Korea to attend the “ALATAU RISE With Kazakhstan” international roadshow. Both sides reviewed ongoing collaboration in major projects such as the Turkistan Combined Power Plant and Almaty Ring Road operations.

Kazakhstan officials expressed interest in Korean participation in the Alatau City project, emphasizing cooperation in smart city development, hydrogen economy, and urban air mobility (UAM). Vice Minister Lee highlighted Korea’s advanced expertise in new city and smart city development, expressing hope for expanded synergy between the two countries.

He reaffirmed plans to further explore joint projects in gas plant construction and road infrastructure, strengthening Korea–Kazakhstan industrial ties.
