At the Alatau Rise With Kazakhstan international roadshow in Seoul, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ilyas Bakytzhan unveiled the energy infrastructure strategy for Alatau City, highlighting renewable integration and Smart Grid systems. Designed to meet energy demands up to 2,000 MW, the plan includes combined gas turbine systems and national grid connections, alongside solar, heat pump, and hydrogen-based heating. Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ilyas Bakytzhan emphasized hydrogen’s key role in clean transport, energy balancing, and eco-friendly fertilizer production. Cooperation with South Korea will focus on technology transfer, investment, and hydrogen safety standards. During the event, the Ministry of Energy and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed an MOU under the H2G initiative, promoting clean hydrogen projects and supporting low-carbon development. The presentation reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to a sustainable energy transition and deeper green collaboration with Korea.
