Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bozumbayev Kanat unveiled the ambitious Alatau City project during the “ALATAU RISE With Kazakhstan” roadshow in Seoul. The future megacity, covering 88,000 hectares, has been designated a special economic zone and is envisioned as a hub for high technology and smart industry.
Kazakhstan invited Korean investors to participate under special economic incentives, including tax benefits and partnership opportunities in hydrogen energy, digitalization, healthcare, and education.
Several key MOUs were signed, notably an agreement to establish a new university in collaboration with KAIST, South Korea’s leading science and technology institute.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously instructed that Alatau City in the Almaty region receive special status, emphasizing its role in driving Kazakhstan’s innovation and industrial future.
