Kazakhstan has officially launched its global investment roadshow for Alatau City, a 880 km² futuristic smart city project north of Almaty, with South Korea as its first international partner. The event, “Alatau City International Roadshow,” took place on October 15–16 at Seoul’s Lotte Hotel, showcasing Kazakhstan’s ambition to transform the region into a strategic industrial hub.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bozumbayev Kanat described Alatau City as a platform to create a new industrial ecosystem in Eurasia, emphasizing that collaboration with Korean firms would be crucial to the project’s success. Over 400 government and business leaders attended, exploring partnership opportunities in future mobility, hydrogen energy, urban air mobility (UAM), and other advanced technologies.

Key speakers included Caspian Group Chairman Tskhay Yuriy, Alatau City Bank Shareholder & Kaspi.kz Chairman Kim Vyacheslav, and project lead Yuliya Kim, who highlighted the support of Kazakhstan’s ethnic Korean network. GGGI President Kim Sang Hyup noted that combining Korea’s high-tech expertise with Kazakhstan’s hydrogen economy could establish a global model for sustainable industry.

Alatau City will feature four specialized zones - industry, finance, tourism, and education - housing around 1.9 million residents and generating 1.1 million jobs. More than 90% of the city will be designated a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), offering tax exemptions and legal protections for foreign investors. Caspian Group has also expanded its Seoul office, Caspian Korea, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in smart city technologies.
