Kazakhstan is positioning Alatau Smart City as a regional center for innovation, digital finance, and smart infrastructure, with South Korea as a key partner, said Deputy Prime Minister Bozumbayev Kanat during a two-day forum in Seoul.
Deputy Prime Minister Bozumbayev Kanat described Alatau as a “crypto city” integrating blockchain, crypto mortgages, exchanges, and stable coins into daily life within a regulatory sandbox. The city will feature AI-driven mobility, drone logistics, and hydrogen energy systems, with opportunities for Korean companies such as Doosan to implement advanced blue and green hydrogen technologies.
Alatau will operate under a special legal framework enabling flexible regulations for innovative projects. The city consists of four districts - Gate, Golden, Growing, and Green - combining finance, education, industry, and leisure.
The government is seeking South Korean construction and engineering partners, including Samsung C&T, Hyundai E&C, and Daewoo E&C, while also fostering talent through AI, robotics, and mobility-focused educational programs. K-Park will serve as a cultural and medical hub.
