Kazakhstan held its first investment promotion event for the new Alatau City project at the Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, introducing development plans for the country’s upcoming smart city.

Located north of Almaty, Alatau is envisioned as Kazakhstan’s new economic hub  -  a large-scale national project with an estimated investment of KRW 25 trillion. The Kazakhstan government announced that the area will be designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with exemptions from corporate and land taxes to attract Korean companies and accelerate investment cooperation.

The event was hosted by the Government of Kazakhstan and co-organized by major Kazakh conglomerate Caspian Group and supported by global consulting firm Samjong KPMG, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between Korea and Kazakhstan in urban development and innovation.
